Technology has raised our standard of living considerably and will continue to do so. Therefore, it goes without saying that investment in basic science and technology is a must in order for any nation to have an efficient and productive democratic system.
The best way to promote democracy is by encouraging young entrepreneurs to innovate and take risks without government overreach and overregulation. The most shining examples of recent youthful entrepreneurship are Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
- We shall continue—and increase—our investment in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the National Institutes of Health, and other basic research entities.
- We shall develop an information superhighway through which every home and business across the country will have access to high speed Internet over the next decade.
- We shall commit to Net neutrality, in which all data and broadband speed on the internet is treated equally.
